Nokia wins MMS deal with Singapore’s MobilOne

Nokia has won an agreement with Singaporean mobile operator MobilOne to supply a complete end-to-end multimedia messaging system for its GSM network. Under the agreement, Nokia will deliver and deploy the MMS system equipment and software. It will also provide resources in Singapore to prepare for the launch of services.

Nokia’s MMS technology enables users with MMS phones to send and receive text, images, and sound. It can also be used to send multimedia messages to e-mail addresses.

Singapore’s MobileOne was launched in April 1997 and is making considerable progress in the mobile market. The operator is aiming to become the leader in personal voice and data communications by focusing on value, quality and customer service.
