NOKIA WINS $30M GSM ORDER IN TURKEY

Finnish telecoms group Nokia Oy has won a contract worth around $30 million to extend the GSM network of Turkish mobile telecom operator Telsim Mobil Telekomunikasyon Hizmetleri AS. According to Nokia, the agreement includes microwave radios, several mobile switching centers and home location registers. Nokia would be the sole supplier of transmission equipment and one of two suppliers of network sub-system equipment for Telsim’s GSM network, which currently serves around 250,000 subscribers.
