NOKIA WIN TWO UK CABLE CONTRACTS

The Nokia Telecommunications arm of Finland’s Nokia Oy reports two contracts in the UK cable television telephony market: it says Multi-million pound contracts for the supply of Nokia’s DX 200 switching systems have recently been signed with Yorkshire Cable and Videotron Corp Ltd, adding that the contract with Yorkshire Cable would help the company to offer competitively-priced telephone services to more than 800,000 homes and businesses in its six franchise areas over the next 10 years; Videotron, London’s largest cable operator, will start switching on its DX 200 next year; The DX 200 will offer a comprehensive range of enhanced features for both residential and business sectors, it said.
