Additionally, Nokia will supply 3G Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment. The agreement is over three years and valued at approximately US $130 million.
Omnitel Vodafone and Nokia will also establish a Service Creation Center for 3G application development in Milan as well as a Technology Center to test the evolution of 3G technology and equipment.
According to Omnitel, the commercial launch of their 3G services are expected to take place during the second half of 2002.
