The appliances now support virtual router redundancy protocol (VRRP), the firm said, and have a configuration replication system that allows user or admin configuration changes to be synchronized between groups of gateways.

Nokia director of product management Steve Schall said that the replication feature supports the new single sign-on feature, which lets each device remember user credentials for multiple back-end applications.

The company has also improved the client integrity checking features to support not just file and process checking, but also registry keys, patch levels, personal firewall policies and anti-virus software definition levels.
