China Telecoms will be using the network that Nokia provides to replace old copper phone lines that are currently in use. Nokia will supply Digital Subscriber Line technology will allow for substantially quicker Internet access.
Nokia needs to keep wining infrastructure contracts, as it is one of the areas in which the company lags behind Ericsson. No doubt the contract was most welcome.
