As part of the agreement, a number of McLean, Virginia-based LCC’s existing deployment contracts and the assets used to support the deployment operations will transfer to Nokia. The deal affects up to 80 LCC employees, many of whom will have the opportunity to become Nokia employees.
Nokia believes the deal will enable it to offer a complete range of services and maintains that delivery services, in particular, would to be a significant area as operators sought to reduce operating expenditures.
LCC offers consulting and network outsourcing services to wireless operators, infrastructure vendors, and wireless tower and base station companies, and CEO Dean Douglas said the company could now focus on the growing engineering and consulting services opportunities.
