The Ad Business unit was formed though Nokia’s acquisition of mobile advertising company Enpocket in October 2007.

As part of the agreement, Nokia will provide ad serving, participate in media sales and offer additional mobile solutions for advertisers. According to Nokia, Handmark can use the Ad Platform to serve ads in the Pocket Express mobile service for mobile professionals.

Pocket Express is largely comprised of high income business professionals, a very desirable audience for advertisers, said Douglas Edwards, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Handmark. With the help of Nokia Ad Business, we are able to offer advertisers a unique opportunity to reach this attractive demographic on their most personal device.

Nokia said that the program will be launched in early 2008 and will serve as a new revenue stream for Handmark.

Last month, Handmark developed the new version of its Pocket Express program to be featured on Nokia mobile devices.

Earlier this month, Nokia Ad Business entered into a similar partnership with online advertising sales company Pixel Media to launch mobile advertising solutions.
