Nokia Siemens Networks and Juniper Networks have introduced new Carrier Ethernet Transport 2.0 (CET) offering, which enables operators to balance capacity and cost in their networks.

The new CET 2.0 includes two new Ethernet access switches, which are Nokia Siemens Networks’ A-Series 1200 and 1210, offering capacity to the Ethernet access network.

In addition, the new offerings features Nokia Siemens Networks’ ASPEN network management system, which will allow fixed and mobile service providers to introduce new services in the market and provides advanced visibility into their network wide operations.

CET 2.0 is a fully integrated and managed end-to-end Carrier Ethernet Transport, which through ASPEN provides Connection Analyzer that tracks performance and enables fault isolation, enabling the service provider to monitor performance and availability according to the service level agreements.

Further, the CET 2.0 features alarm management capabilities that are unique to the packet based networks.

Juniper Networks edge and aggregation business unit senior vice president Rami Rahim said the new offering is built on their MX Series Ethernet services platform and by adding management capabilities to ASPEN and multi-service access to the A-series platforms, carriers can get hold of an advanced and integrated base for their new services.
