Nokia Lumia to hit European market in November

Sales in Sweden, Denmark and Russia are expected during the last three months of 2012

By CBR Staff Writer

Finnish handset manufacturer Nokia has confirmed the launch of its new Lumia smartphones major European markets in November 2012, finally revealing its marketing plans for the new products launched in early September 2012.

According to the firm, the new Lumia 920 and 820 versions, which are powered by Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system, will hit German and Italian markets in mid-November, while the sales in Sweden, Denmark and Russia are expected during the last three months of the year.

Nokia’s new devices hit the market at a vital time for the firm, and a busy time for the smartphone industry.

Nokia’s market share plunged following its ditching of old operating system in 2011 for Microsoft’s new Windows Phone operating system and launch of new smartphones from Apple, HTC and Samsung Electronics.

Features of the new Lumia 920 include a 8.7MP camera, with Carl Zeiss optics and image stabilisation in addition to a video recording feature in 1080P at 30FPS and a front facing 1.2MP camera.

The low end Lumia 820 features a smaller lower res screen over the Lumia 920, a non-Pureview 8MP camera, a 0.2 front facing camera and offers 8GB storage capacity.
