Now that Alan Sugar is wearing a one man against the world mantle, it’s not too easy to find out anything that’s happening at his splendid company, so anyone hoping to get inside information on what his next trick will be are likely to find themselves out of luck: however that does not stop the speculation, and outsiders look for Amstrad Plc to come out with an integrated desk-top publishing system, complete with A4 portrait screen before the end of the year, and to follow up with an 80286 box to consolidate the position in the corporate market it hopes to win with the new PC1640 Personalike; permanent price cuts are also expected on the PC1512, but that will depend how many there are in stock and how few the company is able to divert to continental markets, and the answer to those two questions could well be fewer than you think and more than you think.
