NIXDORF ,US, WINS CONTRACT FROM MARSHALL FIELD FOR RETAIL AUTOMATION SYSTEMS

Nixdorf Computer Corp, the Waltham, Massachusetts US subsidiary of the Paderborner, has won a $6m contract from Batus Inc’s Marshall Field & Co to equip Field’s 25 department stores with retail automation systems: Nixdorf will supply some 2,000 of 8812 Point-of-Service terminals, plus in-store processors to Field’s stores in the Chicago area, and will put some 65 in-store processors in Field’s other stores in Wisconsin, Ohio and Texas: sales associates will have direct access to Field’s SNA network from the terminals, so they can do credit authorisations, inquiries and payments.
