NIXDORF STRUGGLES TO MATCH LAST YEAR’S PROFIT LEVEL

By CBR Staff Writer

Amplifying its first half turnover report (CI No 990), Nixdorf Computer AG repeated that it is struggling to match last year’s profit levels – and the situation was not improved by the fact that the company took on an additional 1,010 people, 11% during the first half – but a slow-down in hirings is likely to mean that the increase for the year will be not much more than 11%; capital investment rose only 3% in the period, but research and development expenditure rose 16%.
