Nixdorf Computer Ltd has expanded its new generation Quattro models of the 8870 business computer with a top-end multiprocessor Quattro/75 with support for up to 30 users. The machine comes with up to four of the basic 16-bit processors, each with 1Mb memory. Under the Niros 7.X operating system, different processors can be dedicated to specific tasks, and an intelligent disk controller with 2Mb cache supports concurrently up to four reads and 16 writes. The /75 supports up to 64 devices all told, including computer-aided design terminals. The machines are available now in the UK; Nixdorf give no prices.
