Nissho Electronics Corp of Irvine, California is preparing a laser printer using one of the Adobe PostScript clones that were such a feature of the Seybold event this year. It is using CCS-Page from Control-C Software and the printer is promised to do 12 pages per minute, and provide resolution of 400 dots per inch. Called the LN-1240, it will use a Minolta engine and a 68020-based controller card – with a difference: as well as 6Mb of memory it will sport a Texas Instruments TMS 34010 graphics processor. The printer is due in beta test within three months, but pricing is not yet set.
