NISSAN TO SET UP A EUROPEAN DESIGN CENTRE IN THE UK

Japanese car maker Nissan Corp has announced that it will set up a European design centre in the UK: the company said the facility will become operational by the end of this year and will initially employ 50 people rising to 150 during the 1990s; Trade and Industry Secretary Lord Young currently on an official trip to Japan said Nissan had expressed a desire to take advantage of the software expertise of the UK Nissan said further announcements will be made latter this year concerning the type of hardware and software the to be used at the design centre the exact location is still to be decided – which will work with European component suppliers and design agencies.
