NISSAN SETS UP TELECOM UNIT

Car manufacturer Nissan Motors has set up its own telecommunications division, Nissan Communications Systems, which will carry out research and development into mobile phones. Nissan already owns a 30% stake in Digital TU-KA Hokkaido Co Ltd, the Tu-Ka Cellular group of nine regional mobile phone companies formed in 1995 (CI No 2,714).
