Nintendo’s Wii console to be promoted through MSN ads

Nintendo is reportedly teaming up with rival console maker Microsoft to promote its new Wii games console via peel ads on the MSN website.

By CBR Staff Writer

According to Brand Republic, ads will appear in the top right-hand corner of the MSN homepage, and will peel down to reveal details on the console, which launched in Europe on December 8, 2006. The target demographic will be 15 to 34-year-old computer game fans who use MSN and Windows Live Packages.

Microsoft says that this is the first time peel ads have been used on the MSN homepage to promote a product.
