Nintendo Co Ltd has taken a minority interest in video games developer Left Field Productions Inc, based in West Lake Village. Left Field concentrates on sports simulation games such as Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside, due to be released next week for the Nintendo 64 video games console. Nintendo said that although video games in America are currently in the most prosperous cycle in their 25 year history, it was experiencing a dearth of games developers. The investment, of an undisclosed amount, is intended to expand operations at Left Field so that it can apply more resources to sports simulation, a market it says will see revolutionary leaps over the next few years.
