Nintendo slashes price of US GameCube

Nintendo has fired the latest shot in the console price-war by cutting the cost of its Gamecube to $149.00 in North America.

Sony and Microsoft last week slashed $100.00 off the prices of Playstation 2 and the Xbox, leaving their retail prices at $199.00. The European price of the Gamecube remains unchanged.

Nintendo has also reduced the price of its GameCube controllers from $34.99 to $24.99 effective immediately.
