By CBR Staff Writer

Nintendo is planning to launch its new Wii U home gaming console and its new touch-screen Wii U GamePad controller on 18 November 2012.

The company will also launch about 50 games for the new Wii U, which will be available in two different colour options and configurations.

Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime said the wait is almost over — in just 66 days, Wii U will arrive with the strongest lineup of launch software in Nintendo history.

"With the integrated second screen of the included GamePad and features that instantly enhance the way people play games, watch video and interact with each other, consumers will see how Wii U delivers a completely unique experience and a remarkable value right out of the box," Fils-Aime said.

Features of the basic model of Wii U include a white Wii U console with an internal storage of 8GB, a white GamePad controller, AC adapters for both the console and controller, a sensor bar and an HDMI cable.

The deluxe model of Wii U is offered with all components in black colour and its features include all essentials from the base model in addition to the Nintendo Land game, enhanced console storage capacity of 32 GB, a console stand, GamePad charging cradle and a stand which will enable positioning of the GamePad vertically on a table.

The purchase of the Deluxe Set will allow the users to enrol in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, expected to be launched in 2014, and receive points for each digital download and cash in the points for future downloadable content from the Nintendo eShop.
