Through this agreement, Niku will use Pumatech’s Intellisync for Web XML toolkit to create NikuSynca tool that will enable users of the soon-to-be-released Niku 6 software to synchronize stored knowledge with Microsoft Outlook, allowing users to access information when off-line. In addition, users of Niku 6 will gain the ability to access information such as project schedules and related goals via a laptop or handheld device.

One of the greatest challenges facing today’s enterprise is how to better manage corporate information in order to help employees do their jobs effectively, while at the same time ensuring that information is easily accessible to those who depend upon it, said Brad Rowe, CEO, president and co-founder of Pumatech. By integrating our synchronization technology into their services relationship management solution, Niku is not only enabling its customers to leverage their groupware investment to access information when offline, but is also providing them with the ability to access schedule and to-do information when away from the office.

Niku Corporation is one of several companies that have recently looked to Pumatech’s Intellisync synchronization engine to provide added functionality and connectivity to their information-intensive applications, such as services relationship management, customer relationship management, and enterprise resource planning. With the new connectivity to Microsoft Outlook provided through the integration of Pumatech’s Intellisync engine, NikuSync will allow users to utilize Outlook to better manage project schedules, important meetings, and related goals. Global business partners utilizing the Niku 6 project collaboration functionality will be able to synchronize project launch schedules and team goals between the innovative software solution and their desktop PIM, easily incorporating this information into existing schedules and gaining the ability to access this information from any handheld device.
