Saffron Walden, Essex-based Nighthawk Electronics Ltd, maker of a variety of computer peripherals and network products, bought the assets of Thame, Oxfordshire-based Lightning Elimination Ltd, which went into liquidation earlier this year. The Essex company said the buy will expand its customer base as Lightning Elimination’s products, in the main, do not overlap with Nighthawk’s; it specialised in uninterruptable power supplies, power surge and powerline protectors, selling in the UK and overseas. At the moment some former Lightning Elimination staff are acting as consultants to Nighthawk but most have now got jobs elsewhere. Nighthawk is currently evaluating which products it will continue to manufacture but said it will support existing customers. It would not say how much it had paid for the assets.
