NI&C International, a subsidiary of Nippon Information and Communications Co, itself a 50-50 joint venture between Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp and IBM Japan, has applied for Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications approval for its entry to the international value-added networks market, which will be made in conjunction with MCI Communications Corp, Washington: the services on offer will include MCI’s electronic mail services and data transmission services such as packet switching, and code and protocol conversion.
