National Instruments (NI) has introduced new embedded controller, NI PXIe-8115 that features the dual-core 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 processor to reduce test times.

The controller includes a set of six USB 2.0 ports, including two display ports to connect to multiple monitors, dual-Gigabit Ethernet, GPIB, serial and parallel ports.

The onboard peripheral port no longer requires the purchase of individual PXI modules and enables engineers to optimise use of the slots in a PXI chassis.

The In-ROM and hard drive diagnostics features help improve the serviceability and minimise downtime of PXI systems.

The dual-core 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 processor offers the new controller with a 2.5 GHz base clock frequency and the Intel Turbo Boost Technology enables the processor to increase the clock frequency based on the application type.

NI PXIe-8115 comes standard with 2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory with up to 8 GB of maximum memory and support for the Windows 7 64-bit operating system, said the company.
