Remarks made by Android’s senior vice president Sundar Pichae hint at an August or September release for Google’s next flagship mobile device, the Nexus 6.
He said to a French blog at Mobile World Congress: "I can assure you it will not be released in the first half of the year."
While that doesn’t seem to allude to a specific release date, the comment definitely alludes to a post-June release for the Nexus 6.
Furthermore, according to reports for Gizmodo Germany, LG will yet again be the partner for the Nexus 6, following its involvement with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.
The German report suggested that the Nexus 6 will be a variant of the upcoming LG G3, which will most likely feature a 5.5-inch display with a 64-bit processor and 16MP camera.
It was originally suggested that Lenovo may be the manufacturer partner for the Nexus 6, with rumours fuelled by Google’s upcoming 6% stake in the Chinese device maker.
Google’s annual I/O developer conference is scheduled for June 25-26 this year, and it is assumed that Android 4.5 will be announced there.

With the conference coinciding with the end of the "first half of the year" which Pichai hinted at, perhaps we will be seeing a Nexus 6 announcement at the event. The more popular opinion for the I/O conference is the announcement of the Nexus 8, however, which will be the 8-inch replacement for Google’s massively successful Nexus 7 tablet range.
Google and LG both failed to respond to CBR at the time of publishing.
The Nexus 6 will be Google’s 2014 effort to compete with the Samsung S5 and the iPhone 6, with the S5 being released in April and the iPhone 6 probably having a release coinciding with the Nexus 6.
