Steve Jobs is supremely confident that the workstation being designed by his new Next Inc company will be the answer to every student’s dream, his only worry is that all the potential customers will have made other choices before his box arrives on the market: addressing a group of 300 community college edu cators, Jobs told them firmly to delay any computer purchases if you are willing to suffer for a year or so there will be an enormous pay-back in years two, three, four and five, he insisted, also suggesting that operating systems should be invisible to users, and that interactive videodisks which merge computer and optical disk storage technology, will never be a widespread success due to the limitations of screen resolution.
