NEXTEL TO TAKE A STAKE IN SABER

Rutherford, New Jersey-based Nextel Communications Corp is to pay $5m for a 20% stake in Saber Communications Inc, which has Specialised Mobile Radio operations in Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas and the Florida Panhandle: Nextel will also provide up to $30m of financing, which will either be repaid or converted into additional equity that could give Nextel an 80% stake.
