All will be revealed tomorrow, Wednesday – although as the announcement is at 9.15 am San Francisco time, we won’t get too much of it before close of play this side of the water – but as details of Next Inc’s new workstation continue to filter out, the ties between Steve Jobs’ new company and IBM seem to get strong er. IBM is believed to have taken a licence to the user interface de veloped by Next Inc for the machine and it now appears that Jobs has gone to an IBM partner, Stepstone Corp of Sandy Hook, Connecticut for an object-oriented C compiler that is to be the main programming lang uage for the box. IBM signed for Stepstone’s Objective-C in August (CI No 1,003). The ban Talking Heads is expected to feature at the launch, either live or on the box.
