Sharp Corp’s Sharp Electronics has announced that its next personal electronic organiser will feature a pen interface, Microbytes Daily reports: the OZ-9600 Wizard will be a modified version of Sharp’s PV-F1, and was announced last week for the Japanese market only at present; the OZ-9600 will include a touch screen and pen, new user interface, and several applications that will make use of the system’s ink-capture capability; it will not include handwriting recognition, but will store handwriting in digitised form; the new graphical user interface makes use of pen-controlled pushbuttons and pull-down menus, and the new machine will also include infra-red communications; Sharp also has a PC-3000 8086-based 1 lb 3 oz palmtop system available this month in the US at $1,000.
