NEXT FOUNDER SWIPE AT MICROSOFT OVER OLE

It’s all part of the game to bad-mouth Microsoft Corp technology – the tall poppies are there to be shot at, and people are questioning whether Object Linking & Embedding is really object technology at all rather than simply a compound document architecture: NeXT Computer Inc founder and chief Steve Jobs took a wounding swipe at it the other day, saying that it is far from being a client-server enterprise application development system, adding Microsoft doesn’t want to make it easier to develop applications – it now makes more money from its applications business and it doesn’t want two guys in a garage developing spreadsheets.
