It’s pretty clear that Steve Jobs has missed his vocation and that he is at heart a showman in the style of H B Barnum: his latest piece of glitz is to get one of his NeXT Computer Systems into the National Air & Space Museum arm of Washington’s Smithsonian Institution when its exhibition on computers in air and space opens next May – but then it’s not too difficult to get a sexy-looking box into the Smithsonian if you give the thing away.
