NEXT AIM TO BE THE MS ALTERNATIVE

NeXT Computer Inc sales of its new software program totalled $11m in the second half of last year: the firm said its aim is to be the accepted alternative to Microsoft Corp, which is why the company is entering partnerships; NeXT offers an object-oriented operating system, NeXTstep, that will soon be integrated into Sun Microsystems Inc’s Solaris software; it will be announcing another Open Step partner soon, but offered no details.
