The Visually Integrated Operating Room (VIOR) harnesses available information resources from information systems, medical devices, surgical video, PACS systems, and more to deliver a comprehensive picture of the surgical case, updated in real time. LiveData’s solution at NewYork-Presbyterian, implemented in collaboration with audio-visual systems partner York Telecom, incorporates voice and video communications to deliver necessary information to the OR team, when and where they need it, easily and instantly.

NewYork-Presbyterian has implemented the VIOR, its ‘wall of knowledge,’ in four operating rooms located at its two major medical centers: orthopedic and neurosurgery ORs at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center; and at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in urology and gastrointestinal surgery ORs. The diversity of these initial implementations will enable the Hospital to address workflow requirements across a wide range of surgical environments.

The system gives clinicians the latest surgical management technology to best care for patients. By integrating and displaying data from disparate areas, it provides information on multiple facets of the operation, at any given moment.
