NewTek Inc, Topeka, Kansas, already has a second generation version of its Video Toaster desktop video production system for Commodore International Ltd’s Amiga (CI No 1,624). This time, reports Microbytes Daily, it is an integrated version of the desktop television studio, which provides switching, digital video effects, character generation, colour processing, three-dimensional animation, paint graphics, and other video manipulations. The new stand-alone version will cost $4,000 plus the price of a monitor. NewTek has bought Amiga 2000s OEM from Commodore, fitted the board, installed the software and badged the machines. The company wants to do a version of the board for use with the Macintosh.
