NEWS IN BRIEF: KASPAROV-DEEP BLUE DEADLOCK

By CBR Staff Writer

World Chess champion Gary Kasparov and rival, IBM Corp’s Deep Blue RS/6000 computer remained level at two points each on Wednesday, after playing a draw in game four of the six-game tournament. Kasparov offered the draw after the computer had made its 56th move of the five-hour match, which Deep Blue immediately accepted. This marked the second straight day in which the two have ended in a deadlock.
