Northern Telecom Ltd reports an order from Bezeq Telecommunications Corp of Israel for its ServiceBuilder flagship Intelligent Networks product. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA has already got the highways telecommunications network wrapped up but it is still hungry for more Italian infrastructure and says it is interested in buying the telecommunications network of state-owned national railway oper ator Ferrovie dello Stato.

UK accounting and financial software supplier Cedardata Plc made good progress during of its second full year of trading on the London Stock Exchange, but yet again its balance sheet has failed to impress the City. Shares fell 14 pence to 185 pence by midday yesterday. The Oracle Corp value-added reseller saw pre-tax profits for the period climb 26% at 4.4m pounds on revenue that rose 35% to 12.1m pounds. Cedardata reported that revenue growth was achieved across all of its major commercial, g overnment and health care business sectors. Overall, pre-tax margins remained flat at 36%. Sales of its Cfacs financial accounting package rose by 20%, and related services jumped 71%. During the period the use of a graphical user interface in Cfacs was extended, to prepare the way for the launch of a fully graphical user interface and client-server product this autumn. Cedardata expect Cfacs 8 to underpin sales of the current product range in the second half, and make a significant contribut ion to license sales in the next financial year.
