Either Tandy Corp is not doing very much right these days or the US economy is weakening. For the first time it has reported such a switch in several years, Tandy says that May sales for stores open a year ago fell 2% to $398.9m. Openings saw the total rise 13% at $447.9m.
Microsoft Corp and General Electric Co Inc’s NBC are to establish new headquarters in Seacaucus, New Jersey for their MSNBC 24-hour cable news network. NBC and Microsoft will invest $500m in the new cable news network over five years, and expect it to generate 400 new jobs in New Jersey.
Yahoo! Inc is to include Digital Equipment Corp’s AltaVista search engine at its Web site and will share advertising revenue with DEC.
