The three finalists to supply a new supercomputer to the US National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado are Cray Research Inc, Fujitsu Ltd and NEC Corp. -o- The Windows version of the Pilot handheld organiser from the Palm Computing Division of US Robotics Inc is now shipping at $300. This first version is for synchronizing data with a Windows 3.1 or Windows95 desktop. A $370 version has five times the data capacity. The version for Mac users is expected to be ready to go in the summer. -o- Netscape Communications Corp has not yet made good on its promise to include 16-bit Windows 3.1 Java support in the new 3.0 release of Navigator. The feature is missing from the current 3.0 beta version. -o- Samsung Electronics Co has won a contract from Sprint Spectrum LP of the US to provide 1.3m Personal Communications Services terminals. The terminals, which use the Code Division Multiple Access format will be supplied in 1997 and 1998.
