Luxembourg-based on-line service provider Europe Online SA claims it now has 25,000 subscribers and will be officially launching a Swedish service in the second half of the year.
UK-based Premier Farnell Plc told the annual meeting that it is expanding in all of its major markets but had experienced some slowdown in growth in some European economies. This has been most noticeable in Farnell Electronic Services which, in common with other volume distributors, has felt the effects of the greater availability and lower prices of semiconductors, the firm said. It seems unlikely that these trading conditions will improve in the remainder of the year, chairman Richard Hanwell told the meeting.
