Intel Corp has begun developing more chips for laptop computers, but does not intend to make motherboards for portables as it does for desktop computers, chief executive Andrew Grove declared in Tokyo.

Motorola Inc president Chris Galvin warns that the company is returning to a period of moderate growth after extraordinary expansion in 1993 and 1994. We’re at our historic growth pattern of 15% or so, Galvin said in an interview with Reuters after the annual meeting.
