NEWS GROUP RAISES ITS HOLDING OF VOTES IN REUTERS HOLDING

Various transactions by Rupert Murdoch’s News Group in Australia and New Zealand will raise his holding of votes in Reuters Holdings Plc above 15%, but the company’s articles of association restrict a single holder having more than 14.9% of the votes, so he will have to sell some of his shares, and the stake is unlikely to have any effect on Reuters’ independence.
