NEWS FROM IBM IN THE WAY OF 9370S

By CBR Staff Writer

What do we look for from IBM in the way of 9370s on August 30 or September 6 or whenever (CI No 993)? Dale Kutnick, now running Dale Kutnick & Associates in Reading, Connecticut is positing five or six new models, with all but the top-end 9377-90 of the current models getting the Big E: he looks for a new CMOS CPU in the new base model offering about 1 MIPS performance, and perhaps 31-bit addressing, at least one model bigger than the 9377-90, and an overall price-performance improvement of 30% to 35%, to bring 9370 in line with AS/400.
