Newbury Data, part of the ravaged Data Recording Instrument Company now owned by FKI Babcock Plc, is launching a new Model 6380 380Mb Winchester at this week’s Comdex/ Fall show – but the business is still for sale, Babcock confirms. The 6380 has 16mS average access time, 31mS maximum seek, 2.6mS track-to-track, 15MHz data transfer rate, making it the fastest in its class. It comes with either ESDI or SCSI; no price, delivery given.
