Kanata, Ontario-based Newbridge Networks Corp has unveiled a multiservice access node for synchronous networks, the 36200 MainStreet Global Services Integrator. Designed for deployment in public networks and large, fibre-based corporate networks, the offering is a 155Mbps integrated access node said to be able to deliver managed services from sub-64Kbps up to broadband rates via a single system. Services supported by the device will be either traditional circuit-switched, such as leased line and ISDN, or packet-based, such as X.25, Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transfer Mode. Initial customer trials are to start in July next year. Pricing is not yet ready.
