Newbridge Networks Corp, Kanata, Ontario is of a like mind and has taken a 33% stake in Cambrian Systems Corp, which is hoping to pioneer the technology with telephone companies wanting to expand their municipal networks. Wavelength division multiplexing uses light streams of different frequencies – colors – to send several bit streams down a single strand of fiber.
