Shares in Newbridge Networks Corp were dancing in the streets of Toronto on gossip that it may be in talks with US remote access switch company Ascend Communications Inc. Word is that alliance talks are going on between Ascend and Newbridge, one analyst told Reuter, saying a deal seemed logical for Newbridge as the companies’ technologies dovetailed well.
