Newbridge Networks Corp, Kanata, Ontario has been awarded a $2m three-year contract by Sun Microsystems Inc for its high-speed digital T-1 and T-3 transmission products for use on the worldwide internal network that Sun is building as it tries to bring its own information systems up to a standard befitting a $2,000m-a-year company: the initial network will consist of 13 nodes, most of which will be located in the US with links to nodes in Europe and Asia, and the network will use multiple Sun workstations as the network management systems running the Newbridge 4600 MainStreet Network Management Software, Newbridge says.
