Elemental Software, a new privately-held company that will develop and market industrial-strength interactive web applications was recently formed from a group of technology industry executives, most formerly of MediaShare Corporation. The new company will focus on providing the fundamental tools that non-technical business users need to build media-rich dynamic HTML applications that meet their business requirements. Drumbeat, the company’s initial product, was announced Wedenesday. The software integrates page and site design, content management, and both client-side and server-side JavaScript development capabilities into one toolkit for use on open server platforms. It provides a visual drag-and-drop environment that enables users with virtually no technical knowledge to build websites. Future versions are already in the works and Elemental CEO Peter Hirshberg stresses that each one will be increasingly easy to use.
