The Optical Systems Division of privately held Marshall Electronics Inc said its video camera on a single chip is now available: the 35mm V-007 produces a black and white photo for such applications as hidden security cameras, robotics, machine vision, computer video and teleconferencing; it is integrated into a single CMOS VLSI and consists of a half inch format 312 by 287 pixel image sensor array; automatic exposure range is 40,000:1 and automatic gain control is adjustable up to 10dB; the complete module, consisting of a 4mm lens in aluminium housing half the size of a business card, is $250; the camera chip is also available by itself, V007IC or on a small board without the lens, the V007PC.
